Reportedly by the Merrin Gallery to have been excavated in Michoacan, Mexico during the 1960s.

Height: 2-3/8 inches (6 cm).

Black-green jade sculpture.

Provenance: 1) The Merrin Gallery, New York, 1970. 2) The Sackheim Family Collection, Florida, 1970 to 2016. Sold with the original receipt from Merrin Gallery, New York.

Price: $2,495.

The carving is full-face with a conical headdress. Modern gold setting with loop was added in the 1960s-’70 by the Merrin Gallery for suspension as modern wearable art. Remains of the old gallery sticker is attached to the backside.
