P-3537 - AN EXQUISITE MAYA JADE PENDANT DEPICTING A HUMAN HEAD OF A DIGNITARY

 

This blue-green jadeite carving is a full-face with a conical headdress. A modern gold setting was added during the 1960s-'70 by the Merrin Gallery for suspension as modern wearable art. Remains of the old gallery sticker is attached to the backside.
