This bold ceramic sculpture stands as a totally unique object, unlike any other. The remains of black pigment are visible on the face and open beak, the hood-like headdress with spout as vent on the top cover the head. It has been said that the hood represents a young eagle because a hood of down is a common occurrence among young eagles, which are later shed. The wide wings, the long tail feather, and the three pronged feet indicate this identification.
