Zacatecas male and female figurenes

P3801 - A LARGE AND SUPERB ZACATECAS MALE & FEMALE TRUE PAIR

This outstanding pair exhibits the classic characteristics of Zacatecas figures, the female with her arms and hands looped to her waist, her level and open top of her head, the black resist decoration around her neck, the male with the curved horn-like headdress projecting from the top of his open head, and the drum held between his knees. The facts that show that it is a true pair are the identical earrings, the identical chevron-like black decorations on the chests and backs of both figures, the formation of their mouths and eyes are also identical. The red slip is also a match. Most male and female Zacatecas couples are not true pairs. True pairs are exceedingly rare and sought after. P-3801. Height: Male figure is approx. 16 inches (40.6 cm.); The female figure is 14 inches (35.5 cm.)
