A FINE OLMEC POLYCHROME LONG NECKED VESSEL

 

Preclassic, Circa 1200-900 B.C.

This carved, incised, gadrooned, and pigmented globular vessel, with long neck and three colors, is a handsomely burnished vase with sporadic  ancient  root markings within the  beautiful surface patina.

PROVENANCE

Stendahl Gallery, Hollywood, CA, sold in 1991. This object is sold with a copy of the receipt from Stendahl Gallery, having sold for $4,270.
