B-4255 A FINE TEOTIHUACAN ORANGEWARE KNEELING PRISONER VESSEL, EARLY CLASSIC, CA. A.D. 300-500

 

This prisoner kneeling, with his hands tied behind his back, is of the Teotihuacan style of "thin orangeware" sculpture, with finely detailed features. A tumpline is wrapped over the top of the head, connecting to a bar on the chest for carrying a burden. Circular earrings adorn the prisoner.
